Incorporating TRESMIC 3-microphone system and new Codec for playback, the DM-650 is the key to preserving important meetings, lectures, conferences, and so on. Podcast-ready feature adds listening versatility, allowing you to listen to your favorite podcast programs or language studies anywhere, anytime.
TRESMIC 3-Microphone System for High-Quality Recording from Low to High Frequencies
The newly developed TRESMIC 3-microphone system was specially designed to record a wide range of frequency bandwidths in high quality. This system features an omnidirectional center microphone to enhance low frequencies, as well as two high-performance directional stereo microphones. The three microphones of the TRESMIC system can achieve a flat recording frequency response from 20 to 20,000 Hz, making it possible to record more natural, closer-to-reality sound with a fuller bass sound.
Front Panel Control Buttons for Improved Operability
The Stop, Record and Fn buttons have all been placed on the front panel to enable smooth, single-handed operation. The front panel also has a large LCD panel that shows recording or playback information in large, easy-to-read characters. The LCD has a backlight to ensure good visibility even in a low-light situation.
Scene Select Recording for Optimum Recording
Thanks to Olympus's expertise in recorder design, the DM-650 is able to offer both high-quality recording capability and ease of operation. The illustrated Scene Select menu displayed on the LCD allows you to choose the optimum recording settings for the situation from Lecture, Conference, Meeting or Dictation. There's even a DNS mode for use with speech-to-text transcription needs. In addition, you can also register up to three customized settings of your own.
Zoom Microphone for Versatile Recording
In addition to multi-format recording capability compatible with superior-quality linear PCM, popular MP3 and convenient WMA formats, the unit also features a zoom microphone mode to adapt to with a variety of recording requirements. Thanks to advanced Directivity Microphone Mode (DVM) technology, the zoom microphone allows you to set microphone directivity from zoom to wide in 10 steps. Just select the Zoom mode to enhance the speaker's voice when recording from a distance in a lecture hall, or the Wide mode to capture clearer voices with minimized noise when recording a nearby subject such as in interview.
