Super large screen/super high-definition EVF

E-M1 Elegant design

This camera is equipped with a 1.48x (35mm conversion: 0.74), super large screen and 2.36 million dot super high-resolution electronic viewfinder that rivals full-size DSLR models. Tracking of moving subjects is improved by reducing the switching time between the rear monitor and EVF, as well as an accelerated display (display time lag 0.029 sec.). Adaptive Brightness Technology is included for a natural view that is like an optical viewfinder, as well as LV Dynamic Range Expansion. Color Creator has been added to Creative Control, controls that are only possible on an EVF. EVF possibilities are increasing.

Adaptive Brightness Technology enables automatic backlight control

Due to the eye's adaptation to brightness, the EVF display image appears dark in bright locations, and appears bright in dark locations. Adaptive Brightness Technology is included to reduce visual errors resulting from these types of eye adaptations, automatically adjusting the EVF brightness. This function brightens the backlight in bright locations, and darkens it in darker locations, thereby preventing unnecessary exposure compensation due to visual errors, letting you shoot naturally and intuitively, just as when using an optical viewfinder.

"Dial Myset" / "Button Myset" let you customize settings according to your shooting style

You can create up to 4 mysets and assign them to any of the modes on the dial. By allocating the mysets to mode dial positions with low frequency of use, you can customize the mode dial according to your favorite shooting style. Moreover if you register a myset with a button such as Fn button, you can recall the myset with a single press of the button.

Digital Level Gauge

The tilt and horizontal directions level meters can be displayed. They are useful when there is no horizontal line in the frame or the screen is too dark to check the composition. Major parameters such as the aperture and shutter speed can also be displayed together with the level meters. You can also replace the exposure indicator with the level meter display* during the half shutter button (one axis).

* Only with finder styles 1 and 2.

Digital Level Gauge

Tilting LCD monitor

Equipped with a tiltable touch panel LCD monitor with high color reproducibility and contrast. The monitor is a capacitance touch panel coated with fingerprint resistant finishing and has very good response. It can be tilted upward to 80 degrees and downward to 50 degrees. It gives you more shooting chances, for example, a high-angle shooting is useful when taking photos in a crowd (e.g. sports event) and a low-angle shooting is useful for taking photos of children and pets. Because the eye sensor is automatically turned off when the back monitor is pulled out, you can now perform touch shooting more easily.

Olympus 25mm f/1.8 M.Zuiko Lens

1.ZUIKO QUALITY enables high optical performance
The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm F1.8 is a high-quality, standard lens that produces beautiful defocusing effects and high resolution, along with the same high optical performance of the popular M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 45mm F1.8, while maintaining a compact and lightweight size.
Traditional 50mm DSLR standard lenses generally use a Gauss-type configuration, however, to achieve a smaller form, fast and quiet AF, a new lens design for the digital age with an inner focusing system was used. To reduce aberration from the center to the periphery, 9 lenses including an aspherical lens are lavishly used, demonstrating clear and sharp optical performance.
Also, by using the Olympus-original ZERO (Zuiko Extra-low Reflection Optical) coating, ghosts and flaring are suppressed for clear depictive performance even in backlit and other unfavorable shooting conditions.

As a standard lens in the M.ZUIKO PREMIUM high-quality single-focal-length lens series, this lens features sharpness and soft defocusing effects that make it the perfect lens for snapshots, portraits, and landscape photography.
Just as other lenses in the M.ZUIKO PREMIUM series, the M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm F1.8 features the same attention to detail in textures, giving it a unified feel with the OLYMPUS PEN and OM-D series cameras. This lens is available in black and silver to match perfectly with your camera.

2.Close-up shooting performance up to 25 cm away
The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm F1.8 can shoot up to 25 cm away for close-up photography, with a maximum magnification factor of 0.24x at 35mm equivalent (0.12x), able to fit a postcard sized shot (A6 equivalent) in the screen full size. When shooting close-ups of tableware or food, the aperture setting of F1.8 creates soft defocusing effects for tabletop photos that are a touch different than the average.
By combining this lens with the separately-sold Macro Conversion Lens MCON-P02, close-up shooting up to 17m away is possible, for easy macro photography at a maximum shooting magnification of 0.436x at 35mm equivalent (0.218x).

3.Fast, silent AF so you never miss a shot
The M.ZUIKO DIGITAL 25mm F1.8 is equipped with the MSC (Movie & Still Compatible) mechanism inner focusing system for fast, smooth, silent, and high-precision AF (auto focusing). When used in combination with FAST AF on OLYMPUS PEN and OM-D series cameras, you'll never miss a shot.
This quiet AF is perfect for capturing still images and movies in quiet scenes.
